A special thanks to our Visiting Therapist

Kim Holmes

My name is Kim, aka Scrappeekim, and I am thrilled to be the Visiting Therapist here at I AM A Scrapaholic! There couldn't be a more fitting title because scrappin' is definitely an addiction and a therapy all in one!

I live in the Pacific Northwest just north of Seattle, WA  with my husband of 23 years and our 4 kids that are still at home.  All total we have seven kids, 1 granddaughter, 2 goldfish, one old crabby cat, and Cooper, our Golden Retriever.  There is never a dull moment in our family and I never lack for good photo opportunities!  I have been scrapping for almost 10 years with the obsession kicking in about 3 years ago.  I honestly find time to do something crafty every single day and can't imagine life without this amazing hobby that we all share!  I have met so many wonderful people and had so many wonderful opportunities, it still amazes me!  I can't wait to dive into the forums and get to know all you scrapaholics even better!

November 2009

Nicole Wise

Hi!! I am so excited to have been asked to be November's Visiting Therapist at "I am a Scrapaholic!"

I live in southern Maine with my husband of 10 years and my two kids. My son, Colby, is 6 and my daughter,  Elizabeth, is 7. They are lots of fun and they are the reason that I scrap! You will be hard pressed to find a layout of mine that doesn't include them!  I also have two Jack Russell Terriers named Fergus and Wilson.

My "day job" is a Middle School Music teacher and I started my 12th year in September!  If I have to work, then I really have the best job out there!  I used to play the saxophone in a big-band professionally, but had to give that up after my 2nd was born.  When the kids are a little older, I might be able to get back to it.

I started scrapping about three years ago thanks to a neighbor and started to get REALLY serious about it a year and a half ago. I love using sketches and looking for fun ideas and inspiration online.

Thanks, again for inviting me to be a Visiting Therapist at IAAS!

Beth Root

My name is Beth Root and I am extremely excited to be working with I AM A Scrapaholic Team!  I have been paper crafting for about 8 years at this point and really enjoy the pleasure it brings to not only me, but to my family as I see the smiles on their faces when they see my completed projects. I have been published in several major magazines, several E-zines and enjoy being a part of the craft business. I do professional design work for Helmar Adhesives, Magistical Memories, My Acrylic Album, and Scrappin' Sports and More. My daytime job is also in a creative field,  as an elementary music teacher and I treasure the inspiration that the children bring into my daily life.

I have been blessed by the gift of a wonderful and supportive husband and son, who think my scrapbooking habits are just a part of everyone's normal everyday life. (So please do not share with them that not everyone is as much of a scrapaholic as me - it is our secret. Tee hee!) I am thankful for both of my guys, big and small and they are my inspiration for this hobby.  My son Gavin is 10 years old and is the typical wild and crazy little boy, who loves sports and school, making scrapbooking a very fun way to preserve his memories for tomorrow. My husband Jason and I have been married for 12 years and going strong. We love doing family things together and these fun and crazy activities give me lots of moments to use as my inspirational craft basis.

September 2009

Suzann Jones

My name is Suzann Jones and I am so excited to be the Guest Designer for September! I think I squealed when I got the email from Sandi! This is the perfect place for me because I actually started scrapping 4 years ago as therapy. I was in need of a creative escape while being the caregiver to my Mother who suffered from Alzheimer’s and I stumbled onto Stamping and Scrapbooking. That therapy did quickly turn into a total addiction to pretty paper and cool stamps.

I live a fairy tale life in Houston. I have been married over 17 years to my biggest fan, Bob. I am the step-mom to 2 grown sons and 4 really cool grandkids. I don't work outside of my Scrap Room, love to travel, entertain often and spend too much time on the computer.

I look forward to getting to know everyone here and spending more time with Sandi and Lynn!

Arlene Camacho

HI!!!!!

I must say first that I am really honored to have been asked to be this month's visiting therapist. It's really exciting for me.

Not much to say about me, I am a mommy to 4 adorable kids I have dubbed "teeny terrors". Married to probably one of the best Husbands in the world for going on 11 years this October. Together we own and operate a Locksmith shop in the historic city of Newburgh in upstate, NY.

I have always admired scrapping from afar. I had friends online who scrapped beautifully and I always wondered how they did that! It wasn't until one day my hubby and I ventured into a Mike's and he started buying all this stuff for me to get me started. It wasn't until the unexpected happened and I got really sick that I jumped into it. All out of a desire to conserve memories.

My style is something I have yet to classify...I do have a love for paper and texture...there is always something sanded, wrinkled, & torn. I love trying new things, just to see what the effects are. My Layouts are ones that makes one want to touch and feel it and I almost always have my heart poured out on them. I was on the Ad This! design team for spring of '09 and haven't been brave enough to submit for much more.

I have to say again, I am so very excited to be working as this month's VT. The DT here rocks and I admire them for the awesome work they do. Lynn's kits as you all know rock! I can't wait to play!!!!

Thanks for the opportunity!

Mary Patterson-Ezzell

I am Mary Patterson-Ezzell (aka – mpezzell) and I am a working mother of three beautiful children and I married to a super, serious fisherman – we live in Seabrook, Texas on the bay – which is about an hour south of Houston. And we truly love it here.

I am also a heartfelt lover of art – in all of its wondrous forms. Art is the one thing I feel that I truly connect to and that I can honestly find myself in… I love being able to be creative and just be myself within the work that I create. And I like the fact that when doing so, I am not really being judged. In art I really love being able to mix different mediums and techniques within my work and incorporating various products and colors. I love that through scrap booking I am really able to do all of this – (find myself) and at the same time save those wonderful simple memories from our everyday life that so easily pass us by. I have been scrapping now for a little over 6 years and I typically scrap layouts in 8.5x11 and/or 6x12 sizes. I feel that my style is fairly clean and simple but with just a tad bit of funkiness added into the mix of things for good measure. In addition to scrapping I also love to paint (mostly with oil paints on canvas) -

Jennifer French

My name is Jennifer French and I live in SW Michigan with my four and a half year old daughter, Natalie. I graduated from Western Michigan University last April with my Elementary Education degree and Early Childhood endorsement. I am thrilled that I have accomplished my goal of graduation and can't wait to have my own classroom someday. Until that time comes, I  substitute in the school district I went to and the one my daughter will attend this Fall.

I started scrapping about 3 years ago but become completely obsessed about 2 years ago. My scrapping obsession changed when I found the online scrapping world. I love that there is so much inspiration out there while making meaningful friendships. I think scrapping was always in me..I can remember putting photos and brochures in albums and jotting a little something in the margin about the picture or event. I love that scrapbooking gives me a creative outlet and lets me explain what the picture(s) mean to me and why I took them. My daughter is my main subject; although, I have been known to pull over and take pictures of anything because something inspired me for a layout

Julie Walton

Me in a nutshell, except I don’t fit in a nutshell, ooppsss!!!  That’s because I have a huge personality, lol!!  Anyway, I would like to introduce you to Julie Walton, aka JuliesAddiction in the scrappy world.  I am a daughter, mother to 3 daughters ages 27, 26 and 21; and Grammy to 3 little people, Jenna is almost 5, Trevor is 2 1/2 and Jeromy is 3 1/2.  I wear way too many hats these days because I care for the 3 little people during the week and they have way too many places to go!!  I began scrapbooking about 3 years ago, and I was ‘collecting’ kits for the year before that.  Online classes and challenges gave me the jumpstart I needed, more in particular finding out it was okay to do freestyle.  I have been on several Design Teams in the last year.  I have also guest designed most months last year for other clubs, I really enjoy finding new places to hang out.  My publications include traditional and digital layouts in Memory Makers, Scrapbook Trends, and Scrap N’ Art. I am honored to work with this months kit and look forward to inspiring YOU!!!
